In 1968 the Maritime Insurance Offices CAMPOU (founded in 1841) and CHARLET (founded in 1884) were combined in an Economic Interest Group (GIE), which was an innovative form of company since the Economic Interest Group concept had been created and accepted as a legal structure in 1967. 1967. This group was lead by Paul CHARLET and Christian de CAMPOU, descendants of the two Insurers who had lead each of the Companies since their creation. Since 1991 their descendant, François de CAMPOU and Jean CHARLET, have taken over leadership of the Companies and the Administration of the Economic Interest Group bringing together their maritime and transport underwriting activities with professionalism their main concern.
